The Overdrive Sport's backbone is a hand-built 6061-T6 aluminum alloy frame featuring tubing formed and butted for both strength and light weight. What this means out on the trail or on the road is that you're piloting a nimble, maneuverable machine. You'll revel in the comfort and precision steering supplied by the SR Suntour XCR-LO suspension fork featuring a plush 100mm of travel to smooth out rough terrain. The fork also sports a Lock Out feature (hence the LO in its name) that enables you to maximize power transfer in situations where suspension isn't necessary, such as climbing or rolling along on asphalt or other smooth, hard-pack surfaces.
A 3x9-speed drivetrain with Shimano Altus shifters and a Shimano Acera rear derailleur means 27 easy, smooth, and responsive shifting options for steep climbs, instant acceleration, or prolonged efforts. This makes for excellent performance when pedaling off-road on strenuous terrain as well as easy, comfortable trips across town for work, school, or weekend cruising. And rest assured you can stop at a moment's notice with a set of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes delivering plenty of power and control.
No doubt you've opted for a 29er because of their large-diameter wheels - ideal for rolling smooth and fast over rough terrain - and the Overdrive Sport certainly delivers with a splendid wheelset. There's some incredibly reliable SL7 aluminum doublewall rims, 32-hole SL7 aluminum hubs, plus tried-and-true 14g spokes laced in a 3x pattern. This all equates to a rugged set-up that can tame any terrain. Rounding out the wheelset is a set of Schwalbe Rapid Rob 29x2.25 tires that sport an aggressive, all-around tread pattern for incredible bite plus a kevlar belt to maximize puncture resistance.
